You will join an integration engineering pod on a large commerce replatforming program as its senior generalist, moving between API integrations, AWS deployment support and data work as the program's priorities shift. This seat is held to the same senior bar as the specialist roles: the difference is range. Engineers who need a narrow lane will not enjoy this role; engineers who ramp fast in unfamiliar code and ship across workstreams will. This is a long-term, full-time engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain REST and GraphQL integrations with SaaS and enterprise platforms
Implement OAuth flows, webhook processing and error handling
Support deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting of Python services in AWS
Handle SQL and data transformation work supporting integrations
Pick up integration, platform or MCP tasks across the pod as priorities shift
Work within the architecture and standards set by the pod's lead architect
Cover for teammates through peak workloads and cutover crunches
Requirements:
5+ years of backend engineering with strong Python
REST and GraphQL API integration experience, including OAuth and webhooks
AWS fundamentals: deploying and operating containerized services
Docker and CI/CD familiarity
Solid SQL
Proven context-switching: shipping across several workstreams in the same sprint
Fluent English
Minimum 4 hours daily overlap with US Eastern time, full-time availability
Nice to Have:
Shopify or other ecommerce platform APIs
BigQuery
Interest in MCP and AI agent tooling
A track record of joining an unfamiliar codebase and shipping in the first week
